  • Sanjeev Aga

    Sanjeev has had a distinguished 40-year business career, capped by his role as the Managing Director of Idea Cellular, one of India’s reputed and leading corporates. He has earlier been Managing Director of Aditya Birla Nuvo with multi-business responsibility, of the erstwhile BlowPlast with the VIP Luggage business, and the Chief Executive Officer of Mattel Toys India. Under his leadership in just four years, Idea Cellular advanced from the No. 6 to No. 3 position in the fiercely competitive telecom sector, creating billions of dollars of shareholder value. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Idea Cellular, ING Vysya Bank, Pidilite Industries, and others including some not-for-profit organisations. Sanjeev is an Honors graduate in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, and a post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

    Pramod founded Genpact, a global leader in business process and technology management services, in 1997 and was its Chief Executive Officer till June 2011. He pioneered the Business Process Management industry in India as well as in diverse countries such as China and Eastern Europe. Under his leadership, Genpact created substantial value from being a start-up to an industry leader with market capitalization of US $4 billion. He is now the Vice Chairman of Genpact and the Chairman of the Skills Academy which is building a skills development business in India. Prior to Genpact, Pramod worked with General Electric (GE) and RCA for over 25 years across the U.S., Europe, and Asia and was most recently the head of GE Capital in India and in Asia. Pramod serves on several boards including NDTV, and Bank of India, and is on the governing boards of several educational institutions including the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow. He is a Chartered Accountant from Thomson McLintock & Co., London, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi University.

  • Hari Agrawal

    Prior to joining Kedaara Capital Advisors, Hari has served as the Chief Financial Officer at Reliance Private Equity and Sequoia Capital India over the past 13 years. At Reliance and Sequoia, he was part of over 50 investments, and was responsible for overseeing the firm’s legal, financial and administrative activities, portfolio monitoring, investor communication and was involved in fund raising. Hari is a Chartered Accountant having secured a merit list in the final year and has a B.Com from Sydenham College, Mumbai.

    Prior to joining Kedaara Capital Advisors, Aman has worked as an Associate with Gotham Consulting Partners, a New York based private equity focused consulting firm, and as a Summer Associate with Blackstone India’s Private Equity team. Pre-MBA, he was an Assistant Manager with ITC Limited and was part of the team that launched the greenfield business of Personal Care Products for the company. Aman received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

    Prior to joining Kedaara Capital Advisors, Anant has worked with Tata Opportunities Fund, an India-focused private equity fund with $600 million under management and with the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in New York. Pre-MBA, Anant has worked as a Category Manager with ITC Limited and with the Investment Team at IDFC Private Equity. Anant holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, where he was inducted into the Beta Sigma Gamma Society and awarded Dean’s Distinguished Service Award. Anant completed his Masters and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

    Prior to joining Kedaara Capital Advisors, Kartikeya served as an Associate Director in the Mumbai office of the global investment firm Temasek Holdings, where he focused on public and private market investments in the financial services, telecom, and technology sectors. Previously, he worked as an investment banker in New York, with Merrill Lynch and Perella Weinberg Partners and as also a Summer Associate at Warburg Pincus. Kartikeya received an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College.

    Kartikeya is currently on a secondment to Clayton, Dubillier & Rice at their London office.

    Prior to co-founding Kedaara Capital Advisors, Manish served as a Senior Managing Director of Temasek Holdings, where he founded their India office in early 2004 and headed all of their investments and other activities in India. He also held multiple responsibilities in Temasek Singapore. He was a core member of its senior leadership team and a key member of Temasek Holding’s Senior Management Committee (SMC), and it’s Senior Investment & Divestment Committee (SIDC). Prior to joining Temasek, he was a Partner at McKinsey and Company, Inc. and had been a part of their New York, Cleveland and Mumbai offices. He has also worked at Goldman Sachs and at the World Bank. He is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and was named a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum in 2005. In 2007, he was profiled as one of the “25 hottest young executives in India” by Business Today. Manish is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.

    Prior to joining Kedaara Capital Advisors, Parag worked with the Investment Banking Division of Barclays Capital in India and advised some of the largest business houses in India and the broader APAC region across a broad range of sectors. Prior to Barclays, Parag worked with Avendus Capital in Mumbai focusing on cross border M&A deals in the Technology sector. Parag holds a Masters from University of California, Los Angeles and an Bachelors in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Mumbai University, where he graduated under a full scholarship with distinction.

    Prior to joining Kedaara Capital Advisors, Parin worked in the investment advisory team for General Atlantic, a global private equity fund with $17 billion under management. Parin joined General Atlantic in 2005 and primarily focused on the business services, healthcare and consumer sectors. Previously, he was with McKinsey & Company in their High Tech Practice and Capgemini Consulting in their Automotive Group. Parin holds an MBA in Finance from Mumbai University and completed his Bachelor of Engineering from Mumbai University.

At Matrix, Ashay primarily focused on the financial services, education and hospitality sectors. Previously, he was with the Investment Banking Division of Bank of America in New York in the Financial Institutions Group. Ashay holds an MBA with Distinction from Insead and completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Economics from Duke University.

Nishant holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and Masters and Bachelors in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Manish Kejriwal is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Kedaara Capital Advisors LLP (the “Investment Advisor”), a private equity advisory firm dedicated to India and based in Mumbai.

Prior to co-founding the Investment Advisor, Manish served as a Senior Managing Director of Temasek Holdings, where he founded Temasek Holdings’ India office in early 2004 and had actively advised on all of Temasek’s investments and activities in India until September 2011. In addition, he held multiple responsibilities in Temasek Singapore, including serving as a core member of Temasek’s senior leadership team, senior management committee and senior investment and divestment committee. At different times, he also advised on Temasek’s investments in financial services, Africa, the Middle East and Russia.

Manish brings over 10 years of experience, encompassing the full cycle of experiences in private equity in India across a variety of industries and sectors in private and public companies and in other private equity funds. He has successfully advised on various investments/divestments over this period. Some of these include investments in ICICI Bank, Punj Lloyd, Mahindra & Mahindra, Jain Irrigation, Tata Consultancy Services, National Stock Exchange, and Tata Tele.

Prior to joining Temasek Holdings, Manish was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, Inc. and had been a part of their New York, Cleveland and Mumbai offices. Prior to McKinsey, Manish had worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C, and he had spent the summer between his two years at business school with Goldman Sachs (Principal Investment/Corporate Finance) in Hong Kong.

Manish received an AB from Dartmouth College, where he graduated magna cum laude with a major in Economics and Engineering Sciences. He holds an MBA from Harvard University, where he graduated with high distinction as a Baker Scholar.

Manish is currently a member on the boards of Bajaj Holdings & Investment Limited and Bajaj Auto Limited. Over the course of his career he has been (as director or observer) on the boards of various portfolio companies: Temasek Holdings Advisors India Pvt. Ltd., Punj Lloyd, Bharti Infratel, Bharti Tele, Tata Teleservices, Fullerton Financial Holdings and Fullerton India Credit Company.

He is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and was named a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum in 2005. In 2007, he was profiled as one of the “25 hottest young executives in India” by India Today. He has also authored various articles on PE in India and has been profiled in various newspapers and periodicals.

Sunish Sharma

Sunish Sharma is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Kedaara Capital Advisors LLP (the “Investment Advisor”), a private equity advisory firm dedicated to India and based in Mumbai.

Prior to co-founding the Investment Advisor, Sunish served as a Managing Director at the global private equity firm, General Atlantic, where he was a senior member of the India investment team since 2004 and the second employee hired in the Mumbai office. Over the course of almost eight years at GA, Sunish played a critical lead advisory role in the majority of GA’s investments, and most recently played a key advisory role in building GA’s local Indian investment program into a $1 billion portfolio by late 2011. He has extensive private equity investment advisory experience in business services and technology, healthcare, financial services and the energy and resources sectors.

Prior to GA, he was employed as a management consultant at McKinsey in India for six and a half years. He spent the majority of his time on strategic issues serving several Indian and MNC clients on multiple engagements and M&A transactions. He co-authored the first two NASSCOM-McKinsey reports on the information technology and business process outsourcing sectors. These reports are generally regarded as the authoritative research reports on each respective industry sector.

Sunish is a gold medalist from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta where he did his MBA after graduating with honors from Delhi University. Sunish also holds a cost accounting degree.

In 2011, he was profiled as one of the “25 hottest young executives below 40 in India” by Business Today, the leading business magazine in India. In December 2011-January 2012, in the 20th anniversary issue of Business Today, he was also profiled as one of the Top 20 professional which represent the future of Indian Business “The Next Big Guns”. He has spoken at various conferences on PE in India and the region.

Nishant Sharma is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Kedaara Capital Advisors LLP (the “Investment Advisor”), a private equity advisory firm dedicated to India and based in Mumbai.

Prior to co-founding the Investment Advisor, Nishant served as a principal and one of the core members of the India investment team at General Atlantic. He joined GA in 2006 after serving as a summer associate at the firm. He has extensive investment advisory experience across business services, financial services, pharmaceuticals and healthcare and infrastructure/resources.

Prior to attending business school, Nishant worked in the India office of McKinsey from 2001 to 2003, where he worked extensively with Mr. Manish Kejriwal and Mr. Sunish Sharma, and focused on the pharmaceutical, information technology services, manufacturing and government sectors. In addition, he worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a program associate in setting up the largest HIV/AIDS prevention program in India.

In a business career commencing 1973, Sanjeev Aga held senior positions in Asian Paints, Chellarams (Nigeria), and Jenson & Nicholson. In 1987, he joined Blow Plast to head the Furniture business, was made Chief Executive of Mattel Toys in 1990, and in January 1993 was appointed Managing Director of Blow Plast with multi-business responsibility including the flagship VIP Luggage business.

In November 1998, he was appointed CEO of the telecom JV, Birla AT&T. He led the company through a period of fast-paced change, through expansions, mergers and acquisitions to be CEO of Birla Tata AT&T, which was renamed Idea Cellular. In July 2002, Aga left Idea to be with the Aditya Birla Group, where from May 2005 until October 2006, he was the Managing Director of Aditya Birla Nuvo, a conglomerate with interests spanning diverse group businesses.

With Idea's shareholding changing to become an Aditya Birla group entity, November 2006 saw Sanjeev Aga back once again as Managing Director. The next four years were a period of rapid growth and progress for Idea. The company improved its national market position from No.6 to No.3, joined the ranks of the 10 biggest global telcos, and importantly, became a highly regarded profitable company in a hyper-competitive sector. Sanjeev Aga stepped down as Managing Director of Idea Cellular in March 2011. Sanjeev Aga currently serves on the Board of Idea Cellular and Pidilite Industries.

Sanjeev Aga is an Honours graduate in Physics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and a post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.

Manvinder Singh (Vindi) Banga

Vindi joined CD&R in 2010 after a 33-year career at Unilever. He is the former President Global Foods, Home and Personal Care and member of the Unilever plc Executive Board. He was responsible for the global consumer business and also led the creation of a Global Category Organization, responsible for innovation and marketing mix development across 170 countries for all 270 Unilever brands across Foods, Home & Personal Care. Previous appointments include President, Home and Personal Care Asia as well as Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

He has been on the Prime Minister of India’s Council of Trade & Industry since 2004. He is a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Thomson Reuters, Maruti Suzuki India and Marks & Spencer plc. Mr. Banga is also on the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad as well as the Supervisory Board of the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Mr. Banga was awarded the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honors, by the Prime Minister of India in 2010. He holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and received the Gold Medal from both institutions.
